About Me
Hey there, I'm Lindsey, your passionate guide to embracing a balanced and vibrant life through the power of nutrition. As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), I've made it my mission to help you build a healthier relationship with food while cultivating lasting, positive health habits. I became a dietitian for many reasons, but the main ones are wanting to help others and my love of food! Although I make daily efforts to practice what I preach and lead a healthy lifestyle, I enjoy the occasional cookie or cupcake, and wish dinner could be a glass of wine and a charcuterie board most nights.
Food is so powerful in that it brings people together, we create memories around special meals, and it nourishes our bodies to help us be happier and healthier. I want to help you find balance with how to manage your health and diet in a sustainable way. Give me a shout and let’s chat about how you can start making changes to achieving better health!
Why be a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
After years of working in inpatient and outpatient settings, I have recognized the growing number of people being diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes and blood glucose variations have a tremendous impact on many of our organs and our overall health. Although there are lifestyle habits that can contribute to the development of Type 2 Diabetes specifically, genetics play a significant role in the development of this disease. Even without having a diagnosis of diabetes, blood sugar control is extremely important managing food cravings, weight, and preventing diabetes. Because of these things, I chose to obtain the CDCES certification to better serve you not only in managing diabetes, but to also have a better understanding of how the body works and responds to dietary intake.
